About JsonSucks

Format, validate, view, and convert JSON — without the usual friction.

What we do

JsonSucks is a free, browser-based JSON toolkit: a real code editor with syntax highlighting and inline error locations, a synced tree view for browsing large documents, live conversion to XML, YAML, and CSV, and a side-by-side compare-and-merge tool for diffing two JSON files. Every operation — formatting, validating, converting, diffing — runs locally in your browser. Nothing you paste, upload, or drop is ever sent to a server.

Why it exists

Most JSON tools online share the same problems: cluttered pages, forced sign-ups, and "paste your JSON here" boxes that quietly upload whatever you give them to a server you know nothing about. We built JsonSucks to not have those problems — one fast workspace with a real editor instead of a maze of ad-laden tool pages, no account required, and an architecture where your data physically can't leave your device because nothing is ever transmitted in the first place.

How it's run

JsonSucks is an independent project, not a company — built and maintained by a single developer. It's free to use, with no paid tier, supported by a small, unobtrusive ad banner around the marketing sections (never inside the editor, tree view, or convert/compare panels). Read more about exactly what that means for your data on our  Privacy Policy page.
