Privacy Policy

Overview
JsonSucks is a free, browser-based JSON formatter, validator, viewer, and converter. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, how it's used, and your choices around it. The short version: the JSON documents you work with are processed entirely on your device and are never sent to us — this policy mostly concerns the ordinary web infrastructure (hosting, advertising) that any website runs on.
Information we collect
We collect very little, and split it into three categories:
- Your JSON content — not collected.Parsing, formatting, validating, converting, and diffing all run locally in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you paste, upload, or drop is ever transmitted to or stored on any server we operate. The one exception is "Fetch from URL," which makes a request directly from your browser to the address you provide, not through us.
- Standard access data.Like virtually any website, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical information (e.g. IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and operational purposes. We don't use this to track you individually.
- Information you send us.If you use the Contact us page or email us directly, we receive whatever you include — your name, email address, and message — so we can respond to you.
Cookies
We don't set our own tracking or analytics cookies. Your theme preference (light/dark) is stored locally in your browser's localStorage, not a cookie, and never leaves your device. Third-party advertising cookies may be set by Google AdSense — see below.
Third-party services
This site is free to use and is supported by Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and may collect data such as your IP address and general usage information for that purpose. Ad personalization and data collection by AdSense are governed byGoogle's own Privacy Policy, and you can review your ad settings atadssettings.google.com. Ads never have access to the JSON documents you work with in this tool. We don't use any other third-party analytics or tracking services.
Data retention
There's nothing to retain regarding the JSON you work with — it exists only in your browser's memory for the duration of your session and is never transmitted to us in the first place. Standard hosting access logs are retained only as long as our hosting provider's default operational window. If you contact us, we keep that correspondence only as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period afterward for our own records, and delete it on request (see Your rights).
Children's privacy
JsonSucks is a general-audience developer tool and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information (for example, via the Contact page), pleaselet us know and we'll delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA — including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information, and to opt out of certain data uses. Since we don't collect or store your JSON content or require an account, these rights mainly apply to: (1) anything you've sent us directly, which you can ask us to delete or provide a copy of by emailing us, and (2) advertising data collected by Google AdSense, which you can manage directly viaGoogle's Ads Settings.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as the Service gains new features or as legal requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. We encourage you to check back periodically — continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
