Terms & Conditions
Last updated 2026-07-24
1. Acceptance of these terms
By using JsonSucks (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the Service. We may update these terms from time to time — see Section 9 below.
2. The Service
JsonSucks is a free, browser-based JSON formatter, validator, viewer, and converter, plus a compare-and-merge tool. There's no account system, no paid tier, and no guarantee of uptime or availability — it's provided on a best-effort basis, as-is, free of charge.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to process or distribute unlawful content.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape at abusive volume, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or the infrastructure it runs on.
- Interfere with the advertising that supports the Service, e.g. by manipulating ad requests.
- Misrepresent your affiliation with JsonSucks, or use our name or branding without permission.
4. Your content stays yours
Every document you format, validate, convert, or compare is processed entirely in your browser and is never transmitted to us. We claim no ownership over, and have no access to, the JSON (or any other content) you work with in the Service. The one exception is "Fetch from URL," which makes a request directly from your browser to the address you provide, not through us. See our Privacy Policyfor the full picture.
5. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Formatting, conversion (XML/YAML/CSV), and diff results are generated automatically and, like any software, can contain bugs or edge-case errors. Always verify output before relying on it for production, financial, medical, legal, or other critical use — if you spot an accuracy issue, pleasereport it, we want to fix it.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, JsonSucks and its operator won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Because your data never reaches our servers, we're not in a position to lose, leak, or corrupt it on our end — but we also can't recover it for you if something goes wrong on yours, so keep your own backups of anything important.
7. Third-party services & advertising
The Service displays ads served by Google AdSense and may link out to third-party sites. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, the content, policies, or practices of those third parties. See our Privacy Policyfor details on advertising and cookies.
8. Intellectual property
The JsonSucks name, branding, design, and underlying code (excluding your content and third-party open-source libraries, which remain under their own licenses) belong to the Service's operator. You're welcome to use the Service for personal or commercial work without restriction — this section just means you can't rebrand or resell the Service itself as your own.
9. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms & Conditions from time to time, for example as the Service gains new features. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms — if you disagree with a change, please stop using the Service andlet us know why.
10. Governing law
We haven't designated a specific governing law or jurisdiction for these Terms. Where a dispute requires one, applicable local law in your place of residence generally applies, alongside any mandatory consumer-protection rules in your jurisdiction that can't be waived by agreement.
